Miss Blanche Muska of Chicago spent Saturday and Sunday at the home of her father, Florian Muska.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kraus and daughter, Jean, of Chicago, spent Friday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Kraus.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rohloff and son, Merle, of River Rouge, Mich., returned to their home Friday having been the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kelsey of Shady Hill.

Mrs. William Hafer spent Sunday in Chicago visiting relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kraus and daughter, Jean; Mrs. Conrad Kraus, and Mrs. Frank ?  and daughter, Myrtle Marie, visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. August Kraus Friday afternoon.

Mrs. Emil Mavis entered the Frances Williard Hospital, Chicago, last Thursday and was operated on for appendicitis.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Vlk and children, Francis and Grace, of Chicago, were New Year’s day guests of Mr. and Mrs. James Voller.

Mr. and Mrs. John Clinge entertained Archie Clinge of Barrington. Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Clinge, and Mr. and Mrs. Victor Clinge, and their families at their home on New Year’s day.

Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Kraus spent New Year’s at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Ryan of Chicago.

E. W. Riley transacted business in Woodstock on Tuesday.

Miss Blache Muska of Chicago spent New Year’s eve with her cousin, Miss Lilian Pichen of Cary, and the ?  with her father, F. Muska.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kelsey of Shady Hill and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Abbott of Cary left for their winter trip to Biloxi, Miss., Thursday. Their plans are to remain there for about a month and then go on to Florida.

Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Pedersen and children, Lewis. Jr., were Tuesday evening visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kelsey of Shady Hill.

Mr. and Mrs. J. Buehl and children of Barrington were guests of Mr. and Mrs. August Felgenhauer on New Year’s day.

Reinhart Woodsky of Gurnee was a caller at the Kraus home Sunday to visit Richard Strobach. It was their first meeting in about thirty years.

Mrs. Frank Kelsey of Shady Hill was a Chicago passenger Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Freking enjoyed New Year’s with Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Lageschulte of Barrington.

Celebrates Birthday New Year’s Eve
Mrs. John Mollenkamp ? of 238 Russell ? street was pleasantly surprised New Year’s Eve when twenty guests arrived to help her celebrate her birthday anniversary. Pinochle was the evening’s diversion and was followed by a midnight lunch. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Wickersheim, Mr. and Mrs. George Meyer, and Mr. and Mrs. William Kleinsmith of Prairie View were out-of-town guests.

Missionary Societies to Meet Tuesday
The Woman’s Foreign Missionary Society of the Methodist Episcopal church will meet at the home of Mrs. R. R. ? of 335 Liberty street Tuesday afternoon at 2:30. Mrs. Mark Bauman will have charge of the study book.

The Woman’s Missionary Society of the Baptist church will meet at the house of Mrs. Walter Seaverns of 135 Lake street Tuesday afternoon at 2:30.

Entertains Clubs at Christmas Party
Misses Clara and Lillian Landwer of 344 Hillside Avenue were hostesses at a Christmas party at their home Monday evening. Their guests were members of the ? and B. M. C. clubs. The thirty present played ? and had refreshments at the close of the games. Mrs. Fred ? of Bartlett was an out-of-town guest.

Women’s Relief Corps to Install Jan. 8
Installation of officers for Thomas W. Sweeney Woman’s Relief Corps will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 8 at 2:30 p. m. in Catlow’s hall. Each member may invite one guest. Refreshments will be served by the January birthday committee.

Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Plagge and sons, James and Robert of 545 Grove avenue; Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Thompson of Palatine; Mrs. Herbert Plagge and children, Herbert, Jr., and Doris Marie of Ames, Ia., motored to Geneva yesterday where Mrs. Herbert Plagge and children boarded a train to Ames. They have been visiting here and at Palatine for the past two weeks, coming on account of the death of Mrs. Plagge’s mother, Mrs. H. Torgler of Palatine.

Winifred Schwartz of Chicago has been a visitor at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Wesolowski of 137 North avenue since Christmas. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Schwartz, were out for New Year’s.

Mrs. F. L. Carr, James Carr, and Thomas Carr, of Wauconda, were Sunday guests in the home of the former’s son, Clyde Carr, of 133 Lincoln avenue.

Mrs. John Schwemm of 113 Main street was hostess at a tea from 8 to 5 at her home this afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lyons of Chicago were New Year’s visitors at the home of the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Schwartz of 142 W. Lake street. Miss Shirley Lyons, who had visited her grandparents since Christmas, returned home with them.
Professor Herbert Plagge of Ames, Ia., returned home Sunday after a 10 days’ visit to relatives here and at Palatine. R. G. Plagge and sons, James and Robert, of 545 Grove avenue, accompanied him as far as Geneva, where he boarded a train for home.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Andrews returned to their home in Pontiac, Mich., Monday, having arrived before Christmas to visit the former’s mother, Mrs. Lyman Andrews of 539 Cook street, and the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. C. Cannon of Barrington township.

Ray Wichman of 313 Grove avenue who attends the University of Wisconsin at Madison, will return to Madison Sunday, having visited during the holidays with his parents. Mrs. and Mrs. E. F. Wichman.

Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Berghorn of 413 Hough street returned home Monday from a visit of a week with their daughter Mrs. William Spears, and family, at Stronghurst.

Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Wichman of 313 Grove avenue visited over the weekend with the former’s sister. Mrs. Etta Mason, in Chicago, and attended a birthday party in her honor.

Mrs. M. E. Walher returned to her home at Adams, Wis., Tuesday after a week’s visit to her sister, Mrs. E. W. Plagge of 200 Russell street.

Little Georgeann Mavis of Fox Lake visited her grandmother, Mrs. H. H. Williams, of 548 Grove avenue, from Sunday until yesterday.

Mrs. Lenn Dreyer is recovering nicely from a serious operation at the Palatine hospital.
